Tau Consortium
Bioinformatics Hub

Accelerating research in neurodegeneration through data sharing and collaboration

What we do

The Tau Consortium Bioinformatics Hub is a space to bring together initiatives in data sharing, code dissemination, and capacity building in computational biology. We are a collaborative space featuring curated ‘omics datasets, analytical pipelines, and educational resources to support research in tauopathies.

Data Sharing

We work with Tau Consortium scientists to help them deposit their ‘omic study datasets into the ADDI AD Workbench. To the date, investigators have contributed multi-omics datasets representing data from over 1,200 research participants. Over the next year, we look forward to integrating several new multi-omics datasets, including single-nuclei RNA-sequencing, whole genome sequencing, and methylation sequencing, which will create exciting new opportunities for data harmonization and secondary analysis.

Analytical Tools

We help researchers develop pipelines for computational data analysis and data visualization, tailored to their specific needs. In the past year, we created graphical interfaces for interactive data exploration, such as the Variant Visualizer which allows users to examine the frequency of coding genetic variants in known disease-associated genes across different cohorts, with the flexibility to apply it to future datasets.

Educational Resources

We offer workshops, tutorials, and mentorship to help early-career investigators grow their skills. One highlight is our 20-week Computational Genomics training program — a flexible, self-paced course with recorded lectures available in both English and Spanish.
